There are so many in need, especially those that get left behind because people lose their homes as the hurricane season is upon us. Or for many other reasons.      Thank you so much to Rescue Me for allowing us to post our fur babies in need of new homes due to extenuating circumstances. I had Mimi for three years, got her as a rescue with Georgie. Mimi has moderate CH which is a neurological disease that makes it difficult to walk with her back legs, she isn't agile like most cats and her head shakes at times. So she needed to be in a loving home with people that understand that is her normal. A woman by the name of Leslie took both Mimi and Georgie under her care and with love gave them a wonderful home. If it wasn't for Rescue Me, I don't think I they would have had this opportunity.

     Little Jenny was trapped as part of a TNR project on Long Beach Island, NJ. Terrified and confused, she had never been without her momcat. But the cold winter ahead meant that she might not survive the harsh winter winds, so she was not released back to her colony. Being her foster mom, I worked on her socialization everyday. Within a month or two she became an incredibly lovable, sweet kitten but still shy. Luckily, her new adopters understand and respect her need for a quiet home. Thank you, Rescue Me, for helping Jenny find a loving forever home with a human mom and dad that adore her.

     We found a wonderful home for DJ through Rescue Me. The experience could not have been better. We were brokenhearted that we needed to re-home our two kitties because of condo restrictions.      Through the Rescue Me website, friends in the community and a great referral, I was able to place all the kittens with fantastic people. Austin lives with a great family across the street. Gibson, Tremaine, and Johanna went to an awesome feline devoted rescue group in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My husband drove them to the center, and before he left all three were being petted fussed over and claimed by volunteers. Johanna was picked out first by a lovely young lady looking for a small tabby girl. Gibson and Tremaine headed to kitten room to meet some new friends. The rescue group said they also post through your website. I am sure the boys are doing well. Thank you so much for all the work you do.

     Thank you, Rescue Me! After four months, 'Skye' found his new forever home. She said she felt an instant connection. She came to meet him and everyone got along great. Skye is both lovely and loving. The more his new mom and I chatted, the more it became apparent she was the one. When I went to visit them two weeks ago, all was good. He's clearly been spoiled! After having been found weak and scared, Skye now has a good life. I'll always be his foster mom, and will always take him back if he needs. I cried for days and miss him terribly, but remind myself that two beings, Skye and his new mom, have a happy life together. Please encourage everyone you know to spay/neuter and microchip. There will never be enough homes or foster homes or shelters to save all the cats and dogs. And if you adopt, please consider an adult pet.

     Rescue Me helped me adopt two orphaned kittens to a nice family. They were really caring and they drove in all the way from Pearland to pick up one kitten and fell in love with another one. They left with two. That night one of the kittens they picked got really sick and dehydrated and almost died. With the help of several experienced friends, they were able to save the kitten. I have not heard from them in a while, but I hope all is well.

     This little boy named Drake who is only eight weeks old was only on the Rescue Me site for 24 hours. The minute I got my email with new updated cats I immediately clicked on and the first cat I saw was Drake. I certainly didn't waste any time, so I emailed Kelsey the owner right away. I knew within a minute that he was for me. I was originally looking for a tabby cat but could never find any. So at first I thought Drake was all white in the picture, but he wasn't in person which made it even better. I then communicated back and forth all day and night. Then I got an email from the owner saying she found someone else. Honestly, when I read that I was heartbroken, but that didn't stop me from trying. I wrote her back another email expressing my love for him. I told her that he couldn't be in better hands, and that I promised her that I will love and nurture him for the rest of my life. Then about 1:00 AM, I decided to check my email and there was an email from Kelsey. When I opened it up and read it, I jumped for joy cause she decided to choose me in the end. Then the next day she brought Drake to me and we have been inseparable ever since. The only thing I did was change his new name to 'Butterscotch' which happens to be a tabby cat after all. I can't thank her or Rescue Me enough. You all have made my life so much better having him in my life.

But because someone saw him on this site a week or so before and had passed him on to a senior cat rescue, they had contacted me the day of the owner expiring. To be honest, I didn't have much faith in this site only because I live in Italy and the site is not very well-known here (and most of the postings are in English). However, after a few months, I was contacted by someone who was new in town and looking for a cat. We met up and I was assured that the cat would be cared for and loved by this person. I am so happy that I posted here and will recommend this site to my friends here in Italy and abroad as well! Thank you, Rescue Me!

     Polar Bear is a challenging pet. He is strong and feisty and it is my belief that his actions are highly misunderstood. When we got to the point where most of the humans who came into the house were afraid of him, he went from being an inside cat to an outside cat. I thought if he could run and climb, it might help him expend some energy. But outside, he was extremely unhappy. His behaviors even intensified. We contacted the local shelter and they would not take him. They advised us to euthanize him. I searched online for an answer and I saw this site. When I posted Polar Bear on Rescue Me I had very little hope that this animal would be adopted. Very soon someone contacted me who was unable to adopt him, but had some great advice and words of support to buy some time. Then a few weeks later a true cat lover saw his picture on this site and was very interested in him. She contacted me and I explained his whole story to her. She is experienced with cats and she set up a plan for how to work with him to rehabilitate him. Polar Bear craves attention and his adopter will be able to give it to him. He can be affectionate and steal your heart if you can understand what he is asking for. He is quite a character. Now he has another chance. This site saved his life.

     Thanks, Rescue Me! I was contacted by a lovely woman who in spite of being two hours away was so excited to meet Drake. She made the drive the very next day and without hesitation knew she wanted him despite his shyness. I met her and her husband and felt instantly they were solid animal lovers and are excited to share their lives, love and home with him! And I might add he just added a zero to his new living arrangements coming from a 300 square foot apartment, he will be living large and being loved ten fold! I know they will give him what he needs and that he will love them in abundance in return! I thank them both from the bottom of my heart and wish them love and happiness!

     My fiance and I have been searching for this exact kitten for months. Last night, I came across Rescue Me and started viewing the kittens. As soon as I saw Zeke, I knew he was perfect.      I live out in the country where it is not unusual for pets to be abandoned. So, I was not surprised when this sweet little calico kitten came out of the bushes in front of my house with a tiny 'meow.' I found this website by accident while surfing the web for kitten shelters and posted her picture. She was adopted within two days by Judy, a sweet, caring, and experienced cat owner.      My husband and I grieved for two years over the loss of our beloved Turkish Angora, whom we had to have euthanized due to cancer. I'd been keeping an eye on Rescue Me for Turkish Angoras, but they have proved to be in short supply. I kept praying. I was astounded when the posting for Tabitha appeared. She is almost a clone of our beloved kitty, right down to the manner in which she first came on the scene for the kindly people who posted here. The adoption proceeded with incredible ease, and we are still doing double takes as our new girl has settled in, as though she has lived here all her life.

     Thank you, Rescue Me, for your site. I am so excited to be going with YWAM on an outreach mission, and hopefully, on staff after that. There are a few hard things about leaving the country. One is saying goodbye to my three, dearly loved cats. My sincere thanks to Rita and Don for adopting my beloved, Cairo, my tuxedo cat. I know they will love him and provide him with a wonderful home.      My 18 month old granddaughter came to live with me. Shortly after, she began having many health issues. After multiple hospitalizations, we discovered that it was partially due to an allergy to my cat, Shimmer. I've had Shimmer since she was only four weeks old, and now she is almost 10 years old. Shimmer has a very peculiar personality... Not very social. She despises dogs and isn't the greatest with other cats. She ever only really connected to myself and one of my daughters... Everyone else gets hissed at and sometimes swatted at. She also has some very 'interesting' behaviors, such as, urinating on anything lying on the floor in the same room as her litter box. I tried for two months, very unsuccessfully, to find Shimmer a new home due to my little one's health issues. Unfortunately, everyone seems to always want kittens... Or even if they are looking for an older cat, they had no interest in Shimmer due to her personality. I then tried to find a no-kill shelter that could take her in, but every no-kill shelter within a four hour radius was full. I was hitting many roadblocks in trying to find Shimmer a new home. I stumbled across Rescue Me by accident as I was searching for more shelters beyond the four hour radius of my home. I figured it was worth a shot so I made my post. As I had done previously in my efforts, I remained very honest about Shimmer's 'quirks' as I wanted her new home to be fully prepared for the lengthy transition that would be required. Within five days, I had multiple inquiries. Conversations with the first few individuals led to me to believe they weren't 'right' for Shimmer. But, then I heard from Darla. Darla really seemed to understand the heartbreak I was going through and, more importantly, she understood what I was saying about Shimmer and expressed that she would give Shimmer the time she needs. We agreed to make Darla Shimmer's new mom. I drove Shimmer for three hours to get to her new home. Of course, she was very stressed out when we arrived. Darla was very patient with her immediately... But, what shocked me more than anything else is that Shimmer immediately connected with Darla. In 10 years, I have NEVER seen Shimmer allow anyone besides me and my daughter touch her without getting hissed at. Within the first five minutes, Darla was petting and scratching Shimmer and Shimmer was loving it. I was utterly shocked! But, so very happy to find Shimmer a new home that she will be happy in. Thank you, Rescue Me, for helping me find such a wonderful home for Shimmer!

     Today is day two for Christine and her pal, Cujo, settling into our home after their previous owner had to put them up for adoption due to her own living circumstances being disrupted. It is always heartbreaking to me to see older, much-loved pets threatened with euthanasia because they aren't as attractive to adopters as are cuddly kittens, so after keeping an eye on these two for a month, we decided to help their grieving owner and give them those additional years every kitty deserves. We have every expectation that they will bring joy to our lives, and will also send follow-up photos to their loving previous caregiver, so she, too, can be well-pleased with the outcome that posting on this wonderful website made possible. Thank you, Rescue Me!

     Charlie was adopted. Charlie was our cat who was totally deaf and needed some special care. His personality was so sweet that his foster Mom adopted him. The picture you have shows how 'scrawny' he was when we first found him; today he has gained about three pounds, his fur is glossy and he is such a happy fellow. He knows his way around his foster home and is a total inside cat--no more dirty ditches for Charlie. Thanks for the help, Rescue Me.

     Handsome Harry has found his forever home! After a run of bad luck, including homelessness and the loss of his tail, Harry's luck has changed. He now has a wonderful family that has made the decision to make him a permanent member of their family.      Ruby came to us about two and a half years ago, and pregnant. She raised gorgeous nine kittens, who were quickly adopted, but left Ruby behind. Shortly after being spayed, she went into foster care with a woman that was very patient. For almost a whole year, there wasn't anyone that followed through on their interest in Ruby. Finally, someone came forward that was interested in her. It was the perfect match from the beginning. Today, she finally got a chance to go to her new forever home. Thanks, Rescue Me!

     When people viewing Rescue Me saw that poor Ming was living outside, but that she had been declawed, she was adopted in two days. I'm glad she and Debbie will be there for one another from now on.

     I would like to share my wonderful experience and appreciation for Rescue Me. My family rescued 'Toby' as a companion and birthday gift for our recently widowed mother with dementia, who happens to be an animal lover but was pet-less at the time. I personally scrolled through several cats to find the best match for mom. Rescue Me made it very easy with their lengthy descriptions and details about each cat along with a photo. I was looking for a cat who just wanted lots of attention, wanted to be held, would sleep with mom and didn't mind strangers coming and going. The color, sex and age really didn't matter to us . There were many that sounded wonderful, but when I found the description for Toby, he had it all and more! He was once a flea and tick infested starving cat almost getting hit by cars. We can't begin to tell you the joy he's brought to our 79-year-old mother, her caregiver and all our family He is amazing and very loved! In the past, I have gotten kittens for myself, but that stage only last approximately one year and you can't be sure of their adult disposition. By adopting an adult cat you already know the disposition. This would be my only way of getting cats in the future Rescue Me made it very easy from beginning to end and we are so thankful for them and blessed to have Toby! Mom and Toby are now one and have helped each other tremendously! Thank you, Rescue Me!
