Rescue Me ID: 16-02-07-00606Patch (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Patch is a very loving cat that would do best by himself in a quiet home. He becomes afraid when there is a lot of noise or visitors. He is not aggressive to adults or children but young children scare him because of their high energy levels. We have other cats and recently moved to a new home. With all of the changes Patch has become aggressive to one of our other cats. Do not let that stop you from considering Patch as a pet. He is a gentle loving cat that loves to cuddle and be loved.

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind

If you love to get and give affection, these brothers will be a perfect fit for your family. They need lots of affection. They were born blind but that doesn't slow them down. Most times you don't even notice. They are very smart and grasp there surroundings very quickly. They love to climb in their cat tree, sit in a sunny window sill, and enjoy a 3 season porch, and there toys. Due to our growing family we no longer have the attention/affection they need which has created litter box issues. We are looking for a very loving family to adopt them. Sonar (grey cat) is on the shy side, playful, and loves to curl up on your lap. Radar ... (Read More)(white/black)is adventurous, playful and a bit dominant. Will do best with respectful kids. Animal ID: C16-002Peaches (female)

Domestic Cat    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed

Peaches is an older female Calico cat that was recently surrendered to our shelter. Her history is pretty sketchy, but at least some of her life was spent as a stray. The tips of her ears are gone from frostbite, but she seems ok otherwise. She is really shy, though she loves to be held and have her back scratched. We really need a quiet home for her, with a patient, loving family.

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kip ~ male. Approx. 8 weeks old 10/25/2015. Up-to-date on any applicable vaccinations but not yet neutered due to his young age. Kip came to GGOH late one night when a local motel owner found him and his siblings left behind in one of his motel rooms - they had been left with food and water, but very little of it. The motel does not allow pets, and the owner does not recall seeing the kittens with the people who rented the room - we aren't sure if these kittens wandered up to the motel and the motel residents took them in or if they were part of an unwanted litter they simply left behind. One thing we do know, all of the kittens came to ... (Read More)us in very good health and they are friendly, lovable and playful!!! Rescue Me ID: 16-01-15-00181Vinnie (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, FIV

Vinnie was allowed to roam at his old home, so unfortunately he did not have a bright future. He has had multiple injuries (and even porcupine quills in his face!) from being homeless and vulnerable outside. He is now in a foster home waiting for his forever home. He's playful, snuggly, and very social! He has been around both small and large dogs. He tries to initiate play with small dogs, so he would be great in a home with cat friendly canines as long as they're introduced slowly. If you aren't familiar with FIV: 'The virus is transferred through bite puncture wounds or from an infected mom to her babies. Since the virus isn't ... (Read More)airborne or transmitted through shared bowls or litter boxes, as long as there aren't serious scuffles between cats, the virus usually doesn't spread. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Stuart (Stewie) is a male, all black domestic shorthair, approximately 14 months old. Intake as a stray but he shows no signs of being feral. Stewie had been seen roaming around a couple's home and as the weather turned colder, he became a bit braver and started approaching their door. Concerned for his safety, the couple took Stewie to one of our local veterinarians for a health check and asked if they could help find him a home; this is where GGOH stepped in. Stewie is a very sweet boy with quite a charming personality. Up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, micro-chipped and FIV/FELV(-). He is going to make someone very happy once ... In early January 2016, Ivy's owner suddenly passed away and when we were called and asked to help by way of accepting her back into our GGOH family, how could we possibly say 'no'. 'Absolutely' was our answer. This is one sweet cat! Ivy is very well behaved and has settled back into her old routine with us. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Benson & Sullivan, affectionately referred to as Benny & Sully, are 6 1/2 + year old Chocolate Point Siamese brothers. They are sweet, loving, beautiful cats that we purchased as kittens from a wonderful breeder. We have struggled on and off with behavioral issues with them since having our first child nearly 5 years ago. When we had our second child nearly 3 years ago the problems grew. It is becoming increasingly apparent that these cats want more time and attention than we are able to give them. I am confident that these two could will make someone very happy.

Domestic Cat    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Kitty is a female, 6 years old (as of Dec 2015), up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed. Kitty is a very sweet cat who had the misfortune of being left homeless after her previous adopters (adopted from another rescue) had to make a move to an assisted living situation and could not take her along. When the couple sold their home the new buyers then decided they wanted to adopt Kitty from them and keep her in the home she knew. Then sadly, things took a negative turn as the daughter began to have allergic reactions to Kitty and the family contacted GGOH for help when the original rescue would not take Kitty or help them place her. Kitty came ... (Read More)to Gregory's in the hope that we can find her a new 'FUREVER HOME' so she will never have to worry about being homeless again in her lifetime. She has already been shuffled around too many times; from the first rescue to a family, then to another family, and then finally to us here at Gregory's. Rescue Me ID: 15-10-24-00009Maggie (female)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Before contacting us regarding Maggie, please visit our website at www.ggohinc.com to review our adoption policies and procedures. Maggie is a female, black/white DSH, 8-10 weeks old (as of 10/24/2015). Maggie is up-to-date on all vaccinations but has not been spayed due to her young age. This little love of a kitten was found wandering along the side of a busy road; the little girl of the woman who brought her to us gave Maggie her name and we think it's very fitting! Maggie is the sweetest little thing and she is one big fluff ball ~ her fur surrounds her in a sea of puffiness. So, so cute! Just a darling little kitten and we are ... (Read More)certain she is going to make someone very, very happy. (If Maggie looks a little rough in her debut photos above, it's because she did come to us with some upper respiratory issues but she has recovered nicely - all that's left now is just to give her time for her skin and coat to grow out the effects from that virus.) Rescue Me ID: 15-09-29-00555Slim Shady (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, FIV

Slim Shady has been with us for several months now and had been quietly recovering from some non-FIV related issues that he encountered while living as a free-roaming cat. At the time of Slim's rescue, he was very thin and had so many puncture wounds that we hardly knew where to start to nurse him back to health. As you can see, Slim has made a remarkable recovery and is ready to be re-homed. Slim is male, approximately 3 years old (as of Sept. 2015), up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. Slim is missing the tip of his right ear, presumably due to frostbite. You'll also notice in his photo that it appears that he has a ... (Read More)deformity on his lower lip - no deformity, just the coloring of his skin is lighter on the outside of his lip - you'll notice that his nose has the same color pattern. We, here, think it gives him kind of a cute little smirk. :) If you are interested in Slim Shady and would like to know more about him, just give us a call or stop by - we would be happy to discuss him with you. Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Ashe is a male, gray/white tabby, shorthair, 8 weeks old as of September 26, 2015. Ashe is up-to-date on vaccinations but is not yet neutered ed as he is much too young for that at this time. Ashe was brought to GGOH by a young couple who found a box at the end of their driveway with three kittens inside; Musky, Cinders and Ashe. The kittens were barely 4 weeks old when they were brought to us, so tiny and afraid and no momma to care for them but GGOH stepped up to the plate and now at 8 weeks old these kittens are absolutely adorable and are doing splendidly. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Vinnie is a male, gray, DLH; DOB approximately May 2011. Vinnie was one of several kittens found in a dumpster - such a sad, sad thing to know that there are people out there who treat animals in this way. Vinnie is incredibly sweet and certainly did not deserve such treatment. He may look a bit crabby in the above photo but pay no mind to that, he is definitely not a crabby cat; not at all! Rescue Me ID: 15-09-11-00726Willow (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Leukemia (FeLV)

Willow is a male, black DSH. Willow is indeed male, although his name sounds feminine. We had a bit of mistaken identity in the beginning and as we've called him Willow for so long, we've just left his name as is. He is approximately 4 months old (July 2015); he is too young to be altered at this time, but he is up-to-date on vaccinations. Willow has tested positive for Feline Leukemia and is currently segregated from our other felines and is being housed in a separate building. Although Feline Leukemia positive, as it is possible to have a false positive, he will be tested again in a few months. Please do not discount this wonderful ... (Read More)boy just because he has tested positive - it is possible for cats with Feline Leukemia to live long, healthy lives - give us a call, we'd be happy to talk to you about this disease and how Willow could enrich your life. Willow was brought to GGOH with his siblings Cookie and Raven. These three kittens were found running around a trailer park in New Richmond, WI. Willow is the most outgoing of the three and has quickly come to learn that humans are his friends and not the enemy he once thought we were. Willow has a very calm personality for being a kitten - this little boy had to grow up fast to take care of himself and his siblings. Our wish is that he will find a home soon where he can learn to be a kitten again - somewhere where he'll be played with and given all kinds of fun toys and lots and lots of love.     Tot is a male, black/white DSH; DOB is unknown but estimated to be sometime in 2008. Tot, along with Tator (who is also available for adoption) were brought to GGOH after being found living in a car with another sibling and their mother. It is believed that they had been born into that situation and had remained there until they had been found. Tot is super friendly and will allow you to hold him and stroke his head and back and he will lounge in your lap and purr like crazy, too.     Tony is a male, buff/white DSH; DOB approximately June 2013. Tony, along with Houston (who is also available for adoption) were brought to GGOH after being found as strays. He is a beautiful cat with soft, smooth fur. He is definitely skittish around new people but he's coming along nicely in that regard - we continue to work with him daily to help him overcome this. He is to the point that he will come up to you if you have treats or food to offer him. Given more time and a little bit of patience, we know that he will continue to make progress.     Rudee is a female, DSH, orange/white, approx. 10-11 yrs. (as of 9/2015). Rudee has been with us for much too long - nearly her entire life. Rudee came to us in 2005 when she was left in a box on someone's doorstep. She had been left in that box with another cat about the same age as her and with another older female that was pregnant. The doorstep she landed on was that of a woman with a disability who was simply unable to suddenly care for three cats and a batch of kittens soon on the way.     Richie came to GGOH as a rescue in Sept. 2014; he was approx. 8 weeks old upon intake. Richie was found abandoned and living in despicable conditions along with three siblings, his mother, his father, and two other adult female cats. This handsome boy has been learning his manners and socialization skills during his time spent with us here at GGOH and he's coming along fabulously! Olivia is a sassy girl with a big attitude; she likes to be petted, but on her terms only and will tell you when she's had enough. Don't let this deter you though because she really is one lovable and likable cat - although she would do best in a home without young children as they may not be able to understand her unspoken signals.     Mona is a female, DSH, gray/white Tabby. Current age undetermined but we are fairly certain she is under 3 years of age (as of July 2015). Mona was found on a loading dock where she had given birth to four kittens - momma and babies were brought to GGOH by the company's employees who had found her and were understandably concerned for her and her kitten's well-being. One of our wonderful volunteers took Mona and her kittens in as fosters and helped Mona to overcome her fear of humans and to introduce her kittens to a life with human interaction. All have flourished and are simply wonderful. We currently have her four kittens (Tink, ...     Margo is another of the adult cats that were brought to GGOH as rescues from a hoarding/garbage home situation in August/September 2014. Margo had been doing her best to survive in unhealthy living conditions while raising 4 kittens; Tripod, Trixster, Richie and Iris (Richie and Iris are still available for adoption). Two of her precious kittens had suffered serious injuries with Tripod losing a front leg due to a major infection which had settled in a laceration that was not repairable and, Iris, losing an eye due to a puncture wound that went too long without treatment. Since coming to GGOH in September (which was when the photo above was taken), Margo has seen to it that she's gotten all the food she wants and suffers no more from an empty belly; she's grown into a very happy, healthy cat who maybe could be called just a little plump. :) Margo is a beautiful cat and is very well mannered. She gets along well with other cats and doesn't mind sharing her space with a canine or two. She is very affectionate and is content as can be just to sit by your side and have you give her a stroke or two if you're handing them out. We believe Margo to be roughly 18 months old; she has been spayed and is up-to-date on vaccinations. Won't you please consider this beauty of a cat - we promise you'll be happy that you did!     Lulu is a female, gray/white DSH. DOB approximately May 2008. Lulu came to GGOH after being found during our cold winter months here in Wisconsin; she was starved and a little frost-bitten and missing part of her tail. As you can imagine, she was also very scared. Lulu has warmed up (no pun intended) to all of us here at GGOH and is a remarkable gal; she is so loving and playful and shows no signs of the fears that she had when she first arrived. Lulu likes the outdoors and will occasionally sneak out when an unsuspecting guest holds the door open just a little too long but, she never wanders far - usually just a quick roll in the grass ... Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lola came to GGOH in August 2014 as a rescue after being abandoned and left to fend for herself in horrid living conditions. Lola was part of a group of 8 kittens and 4 adults that were left behind and were living in a flea infested garage with no food and only rainwater to drink that was collecting in a dirty oil pan that was sitting outside the garage door. The only shelter these cats had was that garage and to get to it, they had to walk over broken beer bottles, glass from windows that had been shattered out of two cars in the driveway, and mounds of filthy trash. Lola was very skinny and was showing signs of her environment but she ... (Read More)was lovable and gentle and not afraid of humans in any way. The photo above was taken shortly after Lola arrived at GGOH - today, she is a little plumper, but still that loving, friendly girl that came looking for help. We believe Lola to be a younger cat, roughly 18-24 months. She is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations. If you'd like more information on Lola, feel free to contact us or simply stop in during visiting hours. Lola would be happy to show you some lovin'!     Gremmy, (approx. 4 yrs. as of Sept. 2015, female, spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, micro chipped). Intake date - 9/1/15. This sweet little soul was part of a colony living in Hudson, WI. Gremmy had come to her feeding station when her guardian of the colony noticed she was thinning, not eating much and had pus coming out of her mouth. She had been provided care for her spay and vaccinations by another organization to help with population control but when she became ill, that organization backed away - this is where GGOH stepped up and said, 'Not on my watch! We will not let this beautiful life go to waste and we will not let her ... (Read More)suffer!' Gremmy was immediately taken to the vet and received proper care from our dedicated vets at NEW RICHMOND VET CLINIC. She has been recovering and doing great here at our facility. This little love needs a quiet home with someone to love her and see how truly special she is and show her that we are not the only ones who think her life matters. She would do okay in a home with older children who can respect her quiet nature but would probably not fare well in a home with active youngsters. If you think you could give Gremmy the home she deserves, why not stop in today and meet her - you'll be pleasantly surprised at just how sweet she truly is! Although Keegan is currently housed with several other cats and does tolerate them, she would really do much better if she were to be adopted into a home as the ... (Read More)sole household pet. As with all of our rescues that would do best in a single pet household, the sooner we can find her a home and remove her from the multi-animal environment that she is currently in, the better. Another temporary option for Keegan would be a fostering environment - if you think you could help Keegan out in this regard, please give us a call - Keegan, as well as us here at GGOH, would be extremely grateful to you if you could help make adoption or fostering happen for her. Please note that Gregory's Gift of Hope does enforce a no declawing policy as well as an indoor living policy. Please see our website at www.ggohinc.com for more information regarding our adoption policies and procedures. (Less)

Java was surrendered by his owners after financial difficulties brought them to having to move in with their parents; sadly, the parents would not allow them to bring their pet of 9 years. How very sad for Java and his owner. Java has a very quiet demeanor, he loves to be petted and will even let you give him a good brushing of his beautiful long hair. His stunning green eyes twinkle when he has your undivided attention. Java is now 11 years young (as of Nov. 2014). Java would do best in a home where he is the only cat. Domestic Cat    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jack ~ intake date, 9/2010. Up-to-date on vaccinations, is neutered and is front declawed. Jack came to us as a stray, left on someone's doorstep, left to wonder what he did to deserve being tossed out by those he trusted and loved - as Jack is declawed, we know he once belonged to someone. In the years that Jack has been with us, he has settled into the role of facility greeter. He is super friendly and loves the attention of anyone and everyone. You can usually find Jack perched on our front desk patiently waiting for the next unsuspecting person to walk up so he can shower them with all his greatness. Jack's history with us has been a ... (Read More)bit of a troubled one though, as he has been adopted out and returned to us three times - each time he was adopted out he was brought back within a short amount of time for various reasons. It seems to us that each of those times Jack simply just wasn't given enough time to adjust and settle in to his new surroundings. We want this next time to be his last - he deserves a good home and a chance to prove he's worth the risk. Jack needs the patience of someone who is willing to give him that time to adjust, that time to settle in. It's hard sometimes to be shuffled from one place to another, especially when you only speak cat - he can't really tell us what he's feeling or what he's worried over but if you are willing to give him a chance to SHOW you how much love he has to give, we know he will do just that. So, if you're looking for a wonderfully personable and friendly cat, and you think you can give this boy the chance he deserves, please make contact with us so we can talk to you further about him. He really is a wonderful boy! Please visit our website (www.ggohinc.com) for further information on our Indoor Living and Declawing policies as well as information regarding our adoption process. Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, FIV

Brought to our door by a little girl late one Thursday evening, Lizzie (shown with friend Fawn, a yellow kitten) was starving. She was obviously someone's precious pet at one time but had been allowed to get outside and had to fend for herself. Little Orphans Animal Rescue took her in, had her spayed and vaccinated, treated her for fleas and dewormed her. She turned out to be so very sweet, she is a major lap kitty and will sit with her person for hours. When she is on her favorite lap or is relaxed she lets her little tongue stick out a bit. She is so cute! One eye is a bit smaller and squintier than the other and seems to be runny most of ... (Read More)the time. But that is the least of her problems. There is no way to know for sure but Lizzie may have been attacked by another cat who had FIV because Lizzie is now FIV+. Lizzie has not been sick one day since coming to Little Orphans. Other than her runny eye there are no symptoms of anything wrong. You can read about FIV here... http://bestfriends.org/feline-immunodeficiency-virus.aspx Lizzie's main photo is of her snuggling with her friend Fawn (yellow kitten) who loves to snuggle in general, but Lizzie will snuggle with just about anyone. Lizzie's other photo is just of her. Her ear was tipped when she was under anesthetic being spayed. This was done because Little Orphans was doing a Trap Neuter Return program and she would have been released outside after being spayed so she would not produce any more kittens. Clipping the ear is a signal that this animal has been spayed or neutered. Lizzie turned out to be such a wonderful cat that Little Orphans decided to try to find her a home where she would be loved and cared for in the way she deserves. Can you provide a home for Lizzie and give her the love and cuddling she wants so very much? She would return your love eagerly. PIease Read Before Adopting a Cat in Wisconsin
Cats can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. Domestic Cats have been intriguing companions for humans since ancient times. Worldwide, cats are even more popular than dogs as pets. Sadly, huge numbers of cats are in need of adoption and care. A cat owner who no longer wants the cat, or is no longer able to care for a cat, may drop the cat off at a shelter or simply abandon it. Overcrowding in shelters, along with too few adoptive families for the cats, leads to many wonderful pets having to be euthanized. Abandoned cats fend for themselves and breed in the wild, forming colonies of feral cats. Feral cats have such a difficult existence that they typically only live an average of two years, whereas domestic cats can live an average of twelve years with proper care. Organizations exist that can catch and tame feral kittens, and then place them in a home, but adult ferals can rarely be socialized to trust humans. Meanwhile, many prospective cat owners choose to purchase a kitten from a pet store or breeder, and may not know that even purebred cats and kittens are often available for adoption.

Once someone is ready for the responsibility of caring for a cat, adoption can be an incredibly rewarding decision. Adoption benefits cats, owners, and society alike. Adopting a cat is typically much less expensive than purchasing one. Shelters often have a wide selection of very sweet, friendly cats and kittens, including purebreds. Adoptive owners enjoy bonding with their pets, and have the extra satisfaction of knowing they have rescued a wonderful companion from a hard existence. Every cat adopted means one less cat has to be euthanized. Every kitten purchased new results in one less opportunity for adoption to take place. If you are ready for a pet cat, please consider adoption!

lnteresting Cat Trivia Low-Cost Wisconsin Spay & Neuter Clinics
All domestic cats are descended from African wild cats. Cats were considered divine in ancient Egypt and are depicted in hieroglyphs and found mummified in the tombs of Pharaohs. Cats were incredibly popular in ancient Rome; Rome may have been spared from plague outbreaks due to its huge population of feral cats keeping the rat population under control. Today, Rome has the largest number of feral cats of any city in the worldabout 300,000 felines! The largest domestic cat ever weighed was about 46 pounds!
