Rescue Me ID: 15-02-07-00578Bubs (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bubs is an approximately 2 year old (as of August 2014) neutered male who is a very affectionate miracle kitty. Bubs appeared in our neighborhood the winter of 2013. He lived scared and on his own until he no longer could do so due to a severe injury to his front leg. He had to be trapped to get him the medical attention needed. At the local vet he received medical attention to fix the deep long gash on his leg, neutered, tested for FIV (negative) and had his shots An eye injury was also discovered which has left Bubs with a little clouding in his left eye. Due to the severe nature of his leg injury, he had to be confined and given 2 ... (Read More)rounds of antibiotics before he was able to again walk on that leg. In that time, Bubs exhibited a strong distrust of humans but with patient care he became a very trusting and affectionate kitty. Unfortunately, he has yet to become trusting of other cats due to his life in the wild fending for himself, experiencing attacks from other cats. Time may or may not heal his defensive behavior these horrific fights have caused. It is a miracle that he has become so trusting of humans as quickly as he has and understandable that cats continue to evoke fear and defensive reactions. Bubs loves human contact so much that when people start to leave he reaches up, rests his front paws on their legs begging them to stay for just a little longer. Poor guy spends most of his time alone because he cannot join the other kitties. In addition to his affectionate nature Bubs is very smart and loves to play. He loves chasing toys with feathers and pouncing on balls and small stuffed toys. He is very responsive to no, off, get back (when people go out the door) etc.. He deserves a home where he can get attention and playtime he loves so much. He has had a little interaction with dogs wherein he's been a bit unsure but not defensive. A gradual introduction to a mellow personality dog and he will likely be OK with them. His past outdoor life was so horrific for such an affectionate youngster that the out of doors is not for him. If you can give this very special guy a safe indoor only home, please fill out a Little Orphan's adoption application (www.littleorphansanimalrescue.org) or email me personally with questions at siefken@tds.net. Please consider saving Bubs from his current loneliness. He has so much love to give. (Less)

Hi! My name is 'Lilli.' I was born approx 5/29/2014. My Mama (Gloria) raised my sister and myself in the office of an Animal Control facility. We were SO happy to be rescued and able to travel to WI. My sister Abbi has already gone to live with a wonderful family, but my Mama and I are still looking for a loving 4ever home. I have my Mama's beautiful golden green eyes; a long silky gray coat and fluffy tail. I'm a quiet, gentle kitten who likes to play. A very loving companion....I like to follow my foster Mom/Dad around the house; watching whatever it is that they may be doing. Just being by their side makes me happy. I'm quite ... I want nothing more than to be loved and to love someone in return. Are you that special 4ever someone?? Adoption Fee: $75.00 (Fostered through Little Orphans Animal Rescue - Montello, WI) (Less)

I'm known as the 'Woodshed kitty' as that is where my foster mom found me when I was about 9 weeks old. I am sweet as candy; have the most amazing green eyes; a big white spot on my belly that loves to be rubbed; and will chase a ball across the floor and use my cat scratch. When it comes to other people (besides my foster mom) and other animals, I am extremely meek and often times frightened. I have been exposed to children, dogs, and other cats with the result being I hide under the bed until I know I am safe. My foster mom had another cat when I arrived and we got along very well in the beginning. I think the other cat liked being ... (Read More)my big sister. However, once I went into heat (right before I was fixed) my big sister got real mean to me and now tortures me every time I want to eat or use the litter box. My foster mom has to move to a smaller place by next May and I won't be able to go with. Would you Please consider me as your next cat friend? Their foster mom said 'It's like they are dating, they are always snuggling together. They are pretty attached.' She feels that Cali Pumpkin and Tanner need to be together. If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website www.littleorphansanimalrescue.org to submit an application online! If you can take these two love birds together Little Orphans would be willing to negotiate on adoption fees. They are both altered, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, flea/tick treated and microchipped. Both California Pumpkin and Tanner have tested negative for FIV/FeLV/ and Heartworm. (Less)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, FIV

Brought to our door by a little girl late one Thursday evening, Lizzie (shown with friend Fawn, a yellow kitten) was starving. She was obviously someone's precious pet at one time but had been allowed to get outside and had to fend for herself. Little Orphans Animal Rescue took her in, had her spayed and vaccinated, treated her for fleas and dewormed her. She turned out to be so very sweet, she is a major lap kitty and will sit with her person for hours. When she is on her favorite lap or is relaxed she lets her little tongue stick out a bit. She is so cute! One eye is a bit smaller and squintier than the other and seems to be runny most of ... (Read More)the time. But that is the least of her problems. There is no way to know for sure but Lizzie may have been attacked by another cat who had FIV because Lizzie is now FIV+. Lizzie has not been sick one day since coming to Little Orphans. Other than her runny eye there are no symptoms of anything wrong. You can read about FIV here... http://bestfriends.org/feline-immunodeficiency-virus.aspx Lizzie's main photo is of her snuggling with her friend Fawn (yellow kitten) who loves to snuggle in general, but Lizzie will snuggle with just about anyone. Lizzie's other photo is just of her. Her ear was tipped when she was under anesthetic being spayed. This was done because Little Orphans was doing a Trap Neuter Return program and she would have been released outside after being spayed so she would not produce any more kittens. Clipping the ear is a signal that this animal has been spayed or neutered. Lizzie turned out to be such a wonderful cat that Little Orphans decided to try to find her a home where she would be loved and cared for in the way she deserves. Can you provide a home for Lizzie and give her the love and cuddling she wants so very much? She would return your love eagerly.     Here is Lois! This little lady needs that extra love. We found her in a feral situation and pregnant. We did have our vet tip her ear not realizing that she might be adoptable. After having six kittens in our foster home, two didn't make it, we couldn't put her back in a feral situation knowing she wants to be loved. She is very shy but will come to you when she gets to know you better, rub on your legs and give you little love nips.     The Greek meaning of Maia is 'good mother' and she was named this due to her outstanding maternal abilities. Maia's kittens were born in thorny bramble and when her kittens were tangled and unable to move around and eat she sought out the kindness of a human. By meowing as loud as she possibly could until this woman followed her, found the babies and brought them all to Little Orphan's.     I'm a cuddly cat named Me Too and I'm looking for a loving new home. My mom can no longer provide the companionship she thinks I deserve. I was a stray ten years ago when I adopted Mom. We've lived together the past five years in assisted living in Madison. My mom will miss me but she wants me to have more attention and loving than she can give me now. I'm good with most dogs and was best friends with Mom's dog, but, sorry, I sometimes bully other cats so a home where I'm the only cat is best. Mom named me Me Too because her most recently adopted cat was named Three's A Crowd! People say I'm a wonderful cat, and who am I to argue? They ... (Read More)tell me I'm a handsome blue/gray male with gorgeous green eyes. I'm an indoor-only cat with a cute meow and I looove being brushed. I'm a big boy who needs more activity. I enjoys wand toys and, wow, do I know how to cuddle in bed! I have my claws, I'm good at using the scratching post and my litter box manners are excellent. I think I'm 11-13 years old and I hope to have many great years yet! I've had regular vet checkups, I'm up to date on shots, and I am neutered. They say I'm really smart. They called me 'Me Too The Wonder Cat' after alerting staff that Mom had fallen in her room. She was injured and unable to rise. So I trotted out to the dining room to find staff, continually meowing, then trotted toward her room, meowing and turning back to make sure they followed. And so I got help for my mom. My Mom's human kids have cats already so they're helping me find a great home. My scratching post, litter box, and bed will go with me :) I'm kind of camera shy but I look like these stock photos, with a few more pounds, maybe ;) Please come meet me. I'd love to show you my purr...and did you know the feline purr is healing? So cool! My family is sponsoring my adoption fee, if you would like more information or to arrange a meeting, please send an email to leendasoups@att.net. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Cat in Wisconsin
Cats can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. Domestic Cats have been intriguing companions for humans since ancient times. Worldwide, cats are even more popular than dogs as pets. Sadly, huge numbers of cats are in need of adoption and care. A cat owner who no longer wants the cat, or is no longer able to care for a cat, may drop the cat off at a shelter or simply abandon it. Overcrowding in shelters, along with too few adoptive families for the cats, leads to many wonderful pets having to be euthanized. Abandoned cats fend for themselves and breed in the wild, forming colonies of feral cats. Feral cats have such a difficult existence that they typically only live an average of two years, whereas domestic cats can live an average of twelve years with proper care. Organizations exist that can catch and tame feral kittens, and then place them in a home, but adult ferals can rarely be socialized to trust humans. Meanwhile, many prospective cat owners choose to purchase a kitten from a pet store or breeder, and may not know that even purebred cats and kittens are often available for adoption.

Once someone is ready for the responsibility of caring for a cat, adoption can be an incredibly rewarding decision. Adoption benefits cats, owners, and society alike. Adopting a cat is typically much less expensive than purchasing one. Shelters often have a wide selection of very sweet, friendly cats and kittens, including purebreds. Adoptive owners enjoy bonding with their pets, and have the extra satisfaction of knowing they have rescued a wonderful companion from a hard existence. Every cat adopted means one less cat has to be euthanized. Every kitten purchased new results in one less opportunity for adoption to take place. If you are ready for a pet cat, please consider adoption!
