Rescue Me ID: 14-09-19-00340Motegi (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations, Abused/Neglected

Motegi is a very sweet and lovable cat. We got a dog a few years ago and Motegi is petrified of him. He stays in the basement and is afraid to come up to the main living area when the dog is around. I would love to see him be in a home where he feels safe and can roam around as he pleases. He would be best in a home without dogs or very gentle low energy dogs.

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-10-00676Mana (female)

Domestic Cat Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations, Obese, Abused/Neglected

Mana is a 14 year old spayed female kitty. We took her in when she was 9 years old with intent to find rescue for her, and no one wanted her. We kept her, until now - we are going homeless. No rescues will take her due to her age, and no one in this area will adopted an old cat that hates other cats. She will attack other cats. Must be indoors only. We have struggled with her weight since we got her. She is basically addicted to dry kibble, hates most quality foods. We only recently got her to eat some canned food, and we wanted to switch her to raw, but she won't touch it. She has had teeth removed before she came to us, as her previous ... (Read More)home was physically abusive to her and she had bad teeth. No other issues since we have had her. She needs an adult only home with no other cats. She is indifferent to other animals, such as birds, rats, and hamsters. She will play a little bit with dogs and will groom them. She is available to a home that meets these requirements or a reputable no-kill rescue. I'm afraid she is in danger of euthanasia due to our situation, and that's just not acceptable to us. Please contact ASAP. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-07-00500Scrappy (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered

Scrappy was surrendered to our shelter because he was said to be a scrappy cat, he didn't get along with other cats. We found him to get along here just fine he is one of the sweetest cats here right now. He goes out of his way to greet everyone that enters our cat room, and cuddle up on your lap if you sit down. Our guardian angel fund was able to pay for his neuter and now he is just waiting for someone to take him home.

Domestic Cat    Age: Kitten

Health: Needs to be Neutered

Sunny was born here at our shelter on mothers day. His mama we named Flower gave birth after only her second day here at the shelter she was brought in as a stray. We found a home to let the family grow up and at 8weeks we were able to adopt them out to new homes. The problem with Sunny is the other cats in the home he was adopted to didn't want another cat. So now this purrfect kitten needs a new home. He has just the right balance of cuddle and play and should beable to fit in most any home. Call our shelter for more info 715-284-0251.

Our cat is 8 years old. He is a very laid back cat who loves to lay with our daughter and who enjoys being petted. We have to find a new home for him because we are going to be living somewhere that doesn't allow pets. We've had him since he was a kitten so while this is difficult we're hoping to find a loving family for him.

I also have tons of toys for them, large cat perch, bed, litter boxes, dishes, food etc...a lot of extras!! Domestic Cat    Age: Adult

Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

If you would like a lap cat, then Franklin is the one! He lies in my lap every single day, multiple times a day. He's 9 years old and healthy. I am moving out of Wisconsin and may not have a permanent residence for a while, so I need to find him a new home here. Franklin loves people once he gets to know them. He purrs when petted, and you can pick him up and hold him. Sometimes he'll sleep next to my legs. He'll talk to you: he has a lot of different, funny noises. He enjoys interacting with and also watching people. He is shy at first, kind of a scaredy cat, easily startled, and his first instinct is to run and hide, but his natural ... (Read More)curiosity eventually takes over. He's active and energetic, he likes to play. Franklin's favorite game is 'whap the fishy', where he sits in his Ikea cat tent and uses his paws to whap a stuffed fish toy that I hold next to the tent. He will chase balls that you throw, bat balls back at you, or bat balls around the floor himself. He'll attack toys hanging from a stick. He also loves to look out windows, especially if there are birds outside, so a bird feeder would be excellent for him. And he has a thing for sunbeams, often moving his position during the day to be under the sunbeam. He loves to eat canned cat food. He eats crunchy dry food too, but canned is his favorite. He also likes cat treats, such as Feline Greenies. And he's crazy for licking catnip pillows. I've had Franklin since he was a kitten. He's an indoor only cat. He has all of his claws, and I don't want him to be declawed. I just trim his front claws every 3-4 weeks or so. He doesn't scratch up the furniture. He never pees outside the litter boxes. He doesn't have a problem with hairballs, and indeed he rarely vomits at all. He does have a tendency to eat inappropriate things, so you have to be a little careful about that. I will provide Franklin's medical records to you and your vet if you adopt him. He just had a vet checkup with blood testing and rabies vaccine update, and everything is fine. He has always had healthy teeth too. He has a microchip implant for identification. (Less)

Domestic Cat    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs Vaccinations

Sadie was dropped off at my parents farm 9 years ago. She was about a year old, declawed and scared. We were going to take her to the local shelter but at the time a home was raided with several hundred cats. We knew she would get lost in the system. She has been with me ever since. I recently seperated from my boyfriend and need to find a her a temporary home until I can find an apartment. I am staying with family but they are allergic to cats. Sadie is a very lovable (on her terms) & talkative cat. She loves to play. I will supply all needed items (food, dishes, litter box, etc) during her care.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Cat in Wisconsin
Cats can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. Domestic Cats have been intriguing companions for humans since ancient times. Worldwide, cats are even more popular than dogs as pets. Sadly, huge numbers of cats are in need of adoption and care. A cat owner who no longer wants the cat, or is no longer able to care for a cat, may drop the cat off at a shelter or simply abandon it. Overcrowding in shelters, along with too few adoptive families for the cats, leads to many wonderful pets having to be euthanized. Abandoned cats fend for themselves and breed in the wild, forming colonies of feral cats. Feral cats have such a difficult existence that they typically only live an average of two years, whereas domestic cats can live an average of twelve years with proper care. Organizations exist that can catch and tame feral kittens, and then place them in a home, but adult ferals can rarely be socialized to trust humans. Meanwhile, many prospective cat owners choose to purchase a kitten from a pet store or breeder, and may not know that even purebred cats and kittens are often available for adoption.

Once someone is ready for the responsibility of caring for a cat, adoption can be an incredibly rewarding decision. Adoption benefits cats, owners, and society alike. Adopting a cat is typically much less expensive than purchasing one. Shelters often have a wide selection of very sweet, friendly cats and kittens, including purebreds. Adoptive owners enjoy bonding with their pets, and have the extra satisfaction of knowing they have rescued a wonderful companion from a hard existence. Every cat adopted means one less cat has to be euthanized. Every kitten purchased new results in one less opportunity for adoption to take place. If you are ready for a pet cat, please consider adoption!
