Rescue Me ID: 14-10-22-00190Stinkerbelle (female)

Domestic Cat    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Male Cats Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Stinkerbelle is a longhaired spayed female tabby who is up to date on her shots and microchipped. She is very loving and vocal, and wants nothing more than a warm lap to lay on and a tummy scratch. She enjoys going outdooors, but should have an indoor home. She does require a special diet to keep her stomach settled but it is not very expensive. The reason I am rehoming her is that she is not getting along well with my current kitties. I rescued her from a bad situation and am willing to work with potential new owners to keep her taken care of. Please message me for further details on this cutie.

Basil was a little lost waif, all by himself out in the cold. A nice lady kept seeing him near where she lived and wanted to help him. She made sure he had food so of course the little guy followed her. Soon she was able to pick him up and she found out what a wonderful feeling it was to cuddle this little ball of fluff. She searched for someone to take him as she was not able to have him. She found Little Orphans who took him, gave him the medical care he needed and now he is looking for his forever home. Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Milagro means 'miracle' in Spanish and this little man is quite the miracle. Him and his litter mates were born in some thorny bramble and his mommy Maia (also available for adoption) meowed and meowed until a wonderful woman followed her to kittens in need. Unfortunately the vines had wrapped so tightly around Milagro's little back feet that he did lose them but this little miracle man has never let that slow him down. He runs around and plays with his litter mates, jumps on furniture and plays on the cat tree with ease, and has a spirit filled with joy. He also has a loud voice to let you know if he does need anything. He currently ... (Read More)lives in a foster home with dogs so cat food needs to be kept high. Manx Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Buddha was adopted by me at about 3 weeks of age from a vet clinic. He has been in our home since. We are getting a divorce and I had to take the two older Manx cats and leave him behind. The judge says I have 45 days to find him a home! He loves people, does not mind dogs and is a very dominant cat (about 14 lbs) that would be best in a single cat home. He goes out during the day (in the country)but comes in at dark and during the winter. Too many coyotes out at night! He is 12 years old and very healthy. Happy to send other photos.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-05-00538Bubs (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

This is a Courtesy Post....Bubs is an approximately 2 year old neutered male who is a very affectionate miracle kitty. Bubs appeared in our neighborhood the winter of 2013. He lived scared and on his own until he no longer could do so due to a severe injury to his front leg. He had to be trapped to get him the medical attention needed. At the local vet he received medical attention to fix the deep long gash on his leg, neutered, tested for FIV (negative) and had his shots An eye injury was also discovered which has left Bubs with a little clouding in his left eye. Due to the severe nature of his leg injury, he had to be confined and ... (Read More)given 2 rounds of antibiotics before he was able to again walk on that leg. In that time, Bubs exhibited a strong distrust of humans but with patient care he became a very trusting and affectionate kitty. Unfortunately, he has yet to become trusting of other cats due to his life in the wild fending for himself, experiencing attacks from other cats. Time may or may not heal his defensive behavior these horrific fights have caused. It is a miracle that he has become so trusting of humans as quickly as he has and understandable that cats continue to evoke fear and defensive reactions. Bubs loves human contact so much that when people start to leave he reaches up, rests his front paws on their legs begging them to stay for just a little longer. Poor guy spends most of his time alone because he cannot join the other kitties. In addition to his affectionate nature Bubs is very smart and loves to play. He loves chasing toys with feathers and pouncing on balls and small stuffed toys. He is very responsive to no, off, get back (when people go out the door) etc.. He deserves a home where he can get attention and playtime he loves so much. He has had a little interaction with dogs wherein he's been a bit unsure but not defensive. A gradual introduction to a mellow personality dog and he will likely be OK with them. His past outdoor life was so horrific for such an affectionate youngster that the out of doors is not for him. If you can give this very special guy a safe indoor only home, please fill out a Little Orphan's adoption application or email his caretaker directly with questions at siefken@tds.net. Please consider saving Bubs from his current loneliness. He has so much love to give. (Less)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, FIV

Brought to our door by a little girl late one Thursday evening, Lizzie (shown with friend Fawn, a yellow kitten) was starving. She was obviously someone's precious pet at one time but had been allowed to get outside and had to fend for herself. Little Orphans Animal Rescue took her in, had her spayed and vaccinated, treated her for fleas and dewormed her. She turned out to be so very sweet, she is a major lap kitty and will sit with her person for hours. When she is on her favorite lap or is relaxed she lets her little tongue stick out a bit. She is so cute! One eye is a bit smaller and squintier than the other and seems to be runny most of ... (Read More)the time. But that is the least of her problems. There is no way to know for sure but Lizzie may have been attacked by another cat who had FIV because Lizzie is now FIV+. Lizzie has not been sick one day since coming to Little Orphans. Other than her runny eye there are no symptoms of anything wrong. You can read about FIV here... http://bestfriends.org/feline-immunodeficiency-virus.aspx Lizzie's main photo is of her snuggling with her friend Fawn (yellow kitten) who loves to snuggle in general, but Lizzie will snuggle with just about anyone. Lizzie's other photo is just of her. Her ear was tipped when she was under anesthetic being spayed. This was done because Little Orphans was doing a Trap Neuter Return program and she would have been released outside after being spayed so she would not produce any more kittens. Clipping the ear is a signal that this animal has been spayed or neutered. Lizzie turned out to be such a wonderful cat that Little Orphans decided to try to find her a home where she would be loved and cared for in the way she deserves. Can you provide a home for Lizzie and give her the love and cuddling she wants so very much? She would return your love eagerly.     Here is Lois! This little lady needs that extra love. We found her in a feral situation and pregnant. We did have our vet tip her ear not realizing that she might be adoptable. After having six kittens in our foster home, two didn't make it, we couldn't put her back in a feral situation knowing she wants to be loved. Maia's kittens were born in thorny bramble and when her kittens were tangled and unable to move around and eat she sought out the kindness of a human. By meowing as loud as she possibly could until this woman followed her, found the babies and brought them all to Little Orphan's.     I'm a cuddly cat named Me Too and I'm looking for a loving new home. My mom can no longer provide the companionship she thinks I deserve. I was a stray ten years ago when I adopted Mom. We've lived together the past five years in assisted living in Madison. My mom will miss me but she wants me to have more attention and loving than she can give me now. I'm good with most dogs and was best friends with Mom's dog, but, sorry, I sometimes bully other cats so a home where I'm the only cat is best. Mom named me Me Too because her most recently adopted cat was named Three's A Crowd! People say I'm a wonderful cat, and who am I to argue? They ... (Read More)tell me I'm a handsome blue/gray male with gorgeous green eyes. I'm an indoor-only cat with a cute meow and I looove being brushed. I'm a big boy who needs more activity. I enjoys wand toys and, wow, do I know how to cuddle in bed! I have my claws, I'm good at using the scratching post and my litter box manners are excellent. I think I'm 11-13 years old and I hope to have many great years yet! I've had regular vet checkups, I'm up to date on shots, and I am neutered. They say I'm really smart. They called me 'Me Too The Wonder Cat' after alerting staff that Mom had fallen in her room. She was injured and unable to rise. So I trotted out to the dining room to find staff, continually meowing, then trotted toward her room, meowing and turning back to make sure they followed. And so I got help for my mom. My Mom's human kids have cats already so they're helping me find a great home. My scratching post, litter box, and bed will go with me :) I'm kind of camera shy but I look like these stock photos, with a few more pounds, maybe ;) Please come meet me. I'd love to show you my purr...and did you know the feline purr is healing? So cool! My family is sponsoring my adoption fee, if you would like more information or to arrange a meeting, please send an email to leendasoups@att.net. (Less)

Sapphire is a beautiful little brown tabby girl. She was found on the side of a country road near her deceased mama cat, who was probably hit by a car. She was brought to the vet by a Good Samaritan who paid her vet bill but could not take her home. Now little Sapphire is entertaining her foster family full of humans, cats and dogs. She is feisty and full of spunk, and not at all intimidated by large Labradors! We will get a photo of her up as soon as we can get her to hold still for 2 seconds. She has a BIG purr for such a tiny package!

This is very friendly cat who came to my parent's home about a few months ago. At first they thought he may be stray, but being that he is neutered and extrememly friendly they think he may have been left behind when a neighbor moved. He lives outside on the property for now and is being fed outside. Being that winter is coming they would really like to find a home for him. He has been around children and dogs and loves them both. He is white with 'brindle' type markings. Again, would be great with any family. He needs up-to-date shots and a flea treament, but otherwise in good condition.

Domestic Cat Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations, Obese, Abused/Neglected

Mana is a 14 year old spayed female kitty. We took her in when she was 9 years old with intent to find rescue for her, and no one wanted her. We kept her, until now - we are going homeless. No rescues will take her due to her age, and no one in this area will adopted an old cat that hates other cats. She will attack other cats. Must be indoors only. We have struggled with her weight since we got her. She is basically addicted to dry kibble, hates most quality foods. We only recently got her to eat some canned food, and we wanted to switch her to raw, but she won't touch it. She has had teeth removed before she came to us, as her previous ... (Read More)home was physically abusive to her and she had bad teeth. No other issues since we have had her. She needs an adult only home with no other cats. She is indifferent to other animals, such as birds, rats, and hamsters. She will play a little bit with dogs and will groom them. She is available to a home that meets these requirements or a reputable no-kill rescue. I'm afraid she is in danger of euthanasia due to our situation, and that's just not acceptable to us. Please contact ASAP. (Less)

Domestic Cat    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

If you would like a lap cat, then Franklin is the one! He lies in my lap every single day, multiple times a day. He's 9 years old and healthy. I am moving out of Wisconsin and may not have a permanent residence for a while, so I need to find him a new home here. Franklin loves people once he gets to know them. He purrs when petted, and you can pick him up and hold him. Sometimes he'll sleep next to my legs. He'll talk to you: he has a lot of different, funny noises. He enjoys interacting with and also watching people. He is shy at first, kind of a scaredy cat, easily startled, and his first instinct is to run and hide, but his natural ... (Read More)curiosity eventually takes over. He's active and energetic, he likes to play. Franklin's favorite game is 'whap the fishy', where he sits in his Ikea cat tent and uses his paws to whap a stuffed fish toy that I hold next to the tent. He will chase balls that you throw, bat balls back at you, or bat balls around the floor himself. He'll attack toys hanging from a stick. He also loves to look out windows, especially if there are birds outside, so a bird feeder would be excellent for him. And he has a thing for sunbeams, often moving his position during the day to be under the sunbeam. He loves to eat canned cat food. He eats crunchy dry food too, but canned is his favorite. He also likes cat treats, such as Feline Greenies. And he's crazy for licking catnip pillows. I've had Franklin since he was a kitten. He's an indoor only cat. He has all of his claws, and I don't want him to be declawed. I just trim his front claws every 3-4 weeks or so. He doesn't scratch up the furniture. He never pees outside the litter boxes. He doesn't have a problem with hairballs, and indeed he rarely vomits at all. He does have a tendency to eat inappropriate things, so you have to be a little careful about that. I will provide Franklin's medical records to you and your vet if you adopt him. He just had a vet checkup with blood testing and rabies vaccine update, and everything is fine. He has always had healthy teeth too. He has a microchip implant for identification. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Cat in Wisconsin
Cats can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. Domestic Cats have been intriguing companions for humans since ancient times. Worldwide, cats are even more popular than dogs as pets. Sadly, huge numbers of cats are in need of adoption and care. A cat owner who no longer wants the cat, or is no longer able to care for a cat, may drop the cat off at a shelter or simply abandon it. Overcrowding in shelters, along with too few adoptive families for the cats, leads to many wonderful pets having to be euthanized. Abandoned cats fend for themselves and breed in the wild, forming colonies of feral cats. Feral cats have such a difficult existence that they typically only live an average of two years, whereas domestic cats can live an average of twelve years with proper care. Organizations exist that can catch and tame feral kittens, and then place them in a home, but adult ferals can rarely be socialized to trust humans. Meanwhile, many prospective cat owners choose to purchase a kitten from a pet store or breeder, and may not know that even purebred cats and kittens are often available for adoption.

Once someone is ready for the responsibility of caring for a cat, adoption can be an incredibly rewarding decision. Adoption benefits cats, owners, and society alike. Adopting a cat is typically much less expensive than purchasing one. Shelters often have a wide selection of very sweet, friendly cats and kittens, including purebreds. Adoptive owners enjoy bonding with their pets, and have the extra satisfaction of knowing they have rescued a wonderful companion from a hard existence. Every cat adopted means one less cat has to be euthanized. Every kitten purchased new results in one less opportunity for adoption to take place. If you are ready for a pet cat, please consider adoption!

lnteresting Cat Trivia Low-Cost Wisconsin Spay & Neuter Clinics
All domestic cats are descended from African wild cats. Cats were considered divine in ancient Egypt and are depicted in hieroglyphs and found mummified in the tombs of Pharaohs. The cats in the Broadway show, Cats, were inspired by feral cats in London made famous as T.S. Eliot's Jellicle Cats. Cats were incredibly popular in ancient Rome; Rome may have been spared from plague outbreaks due to its huge population of feral cats keeping the rat population under control. Today, Rome has the largest number of feral cats of any city in the worldabout 300,000 felines! The largest domestic cat ever weighed was about 46 pounds!
