Domestic Cat Mix    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Ramsey is still waiting for families to notice him! He's extremely dog friendly (and enjoys wrestling with them), has lived with a small child, has giant polydactyl paws, beautiful chocolate markings and an adorable white tipped tail that he frequently plays with, he sleeps in sinks, he enjoys being carried like a baby, he loves to play and snuggle (the best of both worlds), and he loves everyone he meets. He's about a year old, FIV/FeLV negative, current on vaccinations and microchipped. His only 'flaw' are his eyes. He was found as a sick orphan, so he has to have occasional eye meds/needs someone to wipe his eyes when they get dirty. He's ... (Read More)SO worth it! (Less)

Bonnie (DOB 3/2018) and her brother Clyde came to GGOH as strays found and taken in by one of our volunteers. This little duo is so darn cute - if possible, we'd love for them to remain together. Most black cats have a solid, silky color to them but these two have noticeable stripes. Gorgeous little wees! Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rueben (DOB 5/2016) was found on a farm in rural Barron County, WI by a lovely lady who took him, got him all cleaned up, vetted him and then reached out to us for help. Look at that face - how could we possibly say 'no'! Rueben is one of most affectionate cats we've had come through our doors - he is gentle and charming and has presented well to adults, kids and cats of various ages. He has not been face-to-face with dogs that we know of but we can't imagine that they would be a problem as Rueben seems to love everyone and every thing. This young fella would make a great companion for a younger child to grow up with - we can just see ... (Read More)him running to the door to greet his new family when they come home from their busy day. Don't let this one pass you by - if you've been looking for a friendly cat to add to your family, Rueben could be 'the one'. Rueben is up-to-date on all his vaccinations and has tested negative for both FIV and FeLV. Rueben is a front footed polydactyl (extra toes) - they just add to his charm! Rescue Me ID: 18-06-09-00370Slippery (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, FIV

Slippery came to GGOH through a veterinary practice in Red Wing, MN. Slippery was found as a stray by a family in the Red Wing area but they were unable to keep him. With a diagnosis of FIV+, Slippery's future was grim but, one of the vets at the practice took Slippery under her wing and brought him to good health and then called us asking for help with rescue. Slippery's story touched our hearts so, here he is today with us looking for his new forever home. Slippery (DOB 3/2011) is as stated above, FIV+. For Slippery, that means a life of uncertainty but with proper medical care, a good diet, and lots of love, he will likely live a ... (Read More)nice long life. FIV means an already compromised immune system so it will be important that Slippery receive routine check-ups and that when and if he falls ill, that he be seen by a vet to quickly get anything of concern under control. Cats with FIV can live harmoniously with other cats; transfer of the disease is usually through deep bite wounds but with Slippery's calm, quiet, and gentle manner, this is low on the risk meter. If you have any questions regarding Slippery's FIV status and how to manage it, just ask - we would be happy to discuss this boy's future with you. Slippery is an affectionate cat that just wants to be loved - he asks nothing more, nothing less. Can you give him that - a little bit of love goes a long way! Slippery is fun and outgoing and pretty playful for his age, too. He would make a great family pet - loves everyone! BEFORE CONTACTING US REGARDING SLIPPERY, PLEASE REVIEW OUR ADOPTION PROCEDURES. Rescue Me ID: 18-06-09-00357Molly (female)

Domestic Cat    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Molly is a long haired sweet affectionate ball of fluff! Molly came to GGOH as a pull from the American Humane Society euthanasia list - she was on their list because she has diabetes. Diabetes is a manageable condition and in no way should she have been put down because of it. Sadly, Molly's surrender to the AHS was not her first surrender - Molly had actually had four previous homes before coming to GGOH. When we read her story and how so many had given up on her, we just could not sit idly by and let them end her life. We promised Molly on the day we picked her up, on her freedom ride to GGOH, that we would not let her down, that we would ... (Read More)make sure that if Molly ever left GGOH, that she would go to a loving family who would see her life through to it's natural end. Molly deserves all the love we've been showering on her - she is so sweet and such a trooper when it comes to receiving her daily meds. It just breaks our hearts to know that she was given up on so many times - we made her a promise and we intend to keep it. Molly is a large girl with a long fluffy coat. Due to her size, her belly can become tangled if not groomed regularly. When Molly arrived at GGOH she was full of mats and we chose to shave her to relieve her of those painful nasties. She did great with shaving and we feel that would be a good choice for her going forward as well. Molly is friendly and gentle. She loves to be talked to and petted. She's not real active due to her age and size, so if you're looking for a calm, quiet companion, and you are willing to give her daily meds, she would be perfect for you! Please don't let Molly's diabetes scare you off - we have been working with her for several months to get her meds regulated and we have had no trouble whatsoever administering them. If you have questions about diabetes and how to manage this condition, we would be more than happy to educate you on the routine we follow with Molly as prescribed by her veterinarian. Russian Blue Mix    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Greeley (DOB 10/20/17) came to GGOH after being pulled of the euthanasia list at the Animal Humane Society where she was placed on their list due to fearful behavior. Greeley was surrendered to AHS as part of an unwanted litter. While it is true that Greeley is shy, this is not a valid reason to end her life. She has so much potential! Greeley will allow approach, she will allow petting, she will allow you to hold her and, if you hold her up close to your chin where she can snuggle in, she relaxes and purrs like crazy. She needs to feel safe, she needs to feel loved, and she most certainly deserves to live. Greeley is looking for a ... Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Kaydie is an all black DSH, DOB 3/22/17. Kaydie came to GGOH after being pulled from a humane society's euthanasia list. Kaydie was seized from a home during a cruelty investigation and was scared and nervous and the humane society decided that she was too scared to be put on the adoption floor. Well, that's just nonsense to us here at GGOH so we took Kaydie in and have given her all the time and space she needs to once again find trust in humans. Kaydie remains a little shy but she has great potential - she just needs an adoptive family willing to show her patience and love. Kaydie is not aggressive and you can approach and pet her. ... Domestic Cat    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lindi is a sweet senior gal who arrived at GGOH due to an owner surrender. Lindi is front declawed. Even though Lindi's considered a senior (DOB 6/2005), she still has quite a bit of spunk in her older bones. Lindi gets along with other cats but doesn't seek them out for companionship. She is a fairly independent lady who likes petting, but prefers not to be held; she will approach you for attention. Due to her independent ways, we recommend that Lindi not be placed into a home with children who could not respect her need for space.     Bagheera (DOB 5/2015) had a bit of a rocky start to his rescue life; he was found as a stray by a fellow rescuer down in the Pipestone, MN area and while in transport up to us, he escaped. This fellow rescuer spent several days on his trail and finally, re-captured! Bagheera was of course, naturally, very scared because of these events and it took him a bit to warm up to his new digs but boy, once he did, LOVER BOY!!     If you ever wonder why we rescuers don't always get a lot of sleep... We hate to preach but we received this lovely charming boy via a Facebook 'FREE' pet post. We DO NOT condone this type of 'ridding' yourself of your responsibility. Scampers was darn lucky one of our dedicated volunteers saw his post. It could have been a different ending, one like too many. Scampers owner asked nothing of the people taking her cat and they brought him with no carrier, no blanket, no belongings to make him comfortable; all they brought with was a broken rabies tag.     Peggy (DOB 5/2016) came to GGOH as a stray. This little love had been hanging around a business in Hudson, WI. It was noted that she recently had kittens and the kittens had found homes while this sweet momma was left behind, alone. Well, that just broke our hearts - alone on the street was not a good life to live. Peggy is a quiet, adorable girl with lots of love to give. She is going to be a great addition so someone's family - might it be yours? BEFORE CONTACTING US REGARDING PEGGY, PLEASE REVIEW OUR ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS. www.ggohinc.com

Meet Demi, Demi is in need of a furever home. This sweet little love came to Gregory's when we were alerted to her being placed on the euthanasia list at the Humane Society. You see Demi is a little shy but with some time at our wonderful foster families home she has come around and is a lovely little girl. Demi had come into the shelter pregnant, lost her 4 kittens and then due to being shy was deemed unadoptable. Not on our watch! Demi spent time in foster with a family that has other cats in the home and got along well with them. This foster family also has children and Demi did well with them as well.     Meet Sammy! This adorable fella is just over two years old and quite the little charmer. Sammy was found as a stray near Barron, WI by a wonderful lady who took him in, got him vetted and found him a safe place with GGOH - Sammy has been with us since mid-February relaxing and getting used to being loved on - he has adjusted quite well! This sweetie LOVES human touch - so much so he cradles your hand and will give you little love nibbles and kisses. His favorite - to roll on his back and let you give him belly rubs. Sammy does have a few oddities but they make him all the more charming - you will notice the tip of one of his ears is a little ... Casey is a spunky girl with a little bit of sass yet she is pretty calm and quiet (in other words, past the crazy kitten stage.) We did our best to locate his owner(s) but no luck so Rookie is now available for adoption. Rookie is a boy fella with a charming personality.     Anna came as an AHS euthanasia pull - yes, this young kitten of only 4 months old was on their euthanasia list. Why you ask - because she was shy. Shy! Anna is definitely more on the reserved side, quiet and calm but it is shameful that she was sentenced to die because of it. Thankfully for Anna, GGOH was able to save her from this fate.     Daisy is a 2 yr. old (DOB 8/25/15) petite female calico. Daisy was surrendered to her owner's vet with a broken leg as her owner could not afford to have her leg fixed. At the vet, she was scheduled for amputation but another private rescue stepped in, who in turn contacted us for help. Daisy has had her leg repaired and is now ready for adoption. Yes, she is walking around on all four legs! Daisy is a sweet girl, a little quiet, a bit shy but she is very loving and will flourish in home where she can get all the attention she deserves.     Mary Jane was an AHS euthanasia pull - she was surrendered by her owner and wasn't liking the confines of the ASH cages. We don't know why Mary Jane was given up but we're sure it's not because of her personality - she's a sweetheart! Here at GGOH where this girl is free to roam, she has proven herself to be a lovely senior gal. Mary Jane is 12 years young! We're looking for a quieter home for Mary Jane where she can settle into her senior years and just be loved.     Luna, just about a year old (Dec. 2016) was discarded by her owner because she did not get along with the dog they got. Dropped at the HS she was deemed unadoptable due to this and was then placed on the euthanasia list. Well, they must have felt bad because she was removed from there and placed in the Barn Cat Program. Seeing her on the euth list and then the barn cat list, we decided this was not a place for her as she had been an indoor cat so we stepped in with the help of Fur-Ever Home Rescue and pulled Luna from the HS. She is a beautiful girl, a little reserved and shy and needs a home where she will have the space she needs to feel ... (Read More)safe. We have not introduced her directly to dogs, but she is not phased at all by their barking in another area of our facility and did fine with the kennel patrons that came and went when we had her in our lobby area (we share space with Mally's Sunshine Kennels). We have found that Luna likes her personal space and really just wants a warm sunny spot to rest and be left to herself. She is definitely not a lap cat and would not do well with children. She does okay with older cats but is not fond of the antics of kittens. If you have a quiet, non-active home and could give Luna a home to call her own, she would be forever thankful as our busy shelter isn't really her cup of tea. We know that not everyone is looking for a cat that wants to be left alone, but we're sure someone out there must be her match and we felt she deserved a chance at that life.     Fifi is a 9 mos. old female (as of May 2017); Orange/White DSH Tabby. Spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. Fifi came to us from the euthanasia list of a Twin Cities shelter - her reason for being on the euth. list; 'not placeable in a shelter setting'. Quite honestly, we have no idea why she was labeled this way because further down in her shelter listing the description read '...the cat is friendly and affectionate. No Litter Box issues. Gets along with other cats (playful)'. How does a playful, affectionate cat end up on a euthanasia list - good question! Fifi is a very sweet cat, and yes, she really is only 9 months old - we know ... (Read More)her plump pictures would say otherwise, but it's true. One caution with this girl, we do know she does like to play nibble so we recommend that she be placed in a home with children that are able to understand what these nibbles are - she does not bite, but she has kitten teeth so her nibbling might scare a very young child - older children she would do fine with. Koko came to GGOH in partnership with Ruff Start Rescue after being pulled from the Humane Society euthanasia list. Koko was on the euth. list simply because she was scared and not being super social - let us tell you, this girl is VERY social! Many animals enter the H.S. and are scared of their new, sudden surroundings and to us, that is no reason to be placed on a euthanasia list - we'd be scared, too, if suddenly placed in a cold, metal cage wondering what we did to end up there and wondering when our family was coming back. Domestic Cat    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered

Malcom ~ Male, DSH Brown Tabby. 12 mos. as of Mar. 2017. Neutered, micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccinations. Malcom was a save from the AHS euthanasia list - when we saw this young boy, we knew we had to step up and save his life. Malcom is a friendly cat but he has his a couple of little quirks; there are a select few cats in our facility that he doesn't get along with too well - considering the number of cats we have in our facility, not getting along with one or two seems pretty minor to us. Still, we feel Malcom probably would do best in a home without other cats. Malcom also is not very fond of being held - again, this isn't ... (Read More)unusual as many cats don't like to be held but we need you to know this although he's pretty young yet and he may very well grow out of that. He may also be very different when he's in a home and has the freedom to just be himself and not be on the lookout for those other cats he's not real fond of. We also would recommend that Malcom go to a home with no children. Malcom does, however, love to play and likes to sit on your lap and be petted. He likes chin scratches and LOVES treats. And he LOVES attention - if you want a kitty to chat with, Malcom is your boy! If you think you might be Malcom's match, why not stop in for a visit. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Max came to GGOH after being contacted by a local vet who was treating him as a surrendered cat - he had a fracture sustained after being hit by a car. Max's injuries were fairly severe and although he has healed and is doing very, very well, he will need to be on joint medication for the remainder of his life to help ease any pain that may surface down the road. Max is a big boy; larger than your average cat but it doesn't slow him down, nor do his mended fractures. He is one big cuddle bug! Binky was an AHS pull that came to us from another rescue. As Binky was 15+ years at the time and as he had known constipation issues, he was deemed unadoptable. Thankfully, we all knew better! Binky's gastro issues are easily controlled with a proper diet.     Richie came to GGOH as a rescue in Sept. 2014; he was approximately 8 weeks old upon intake. PIease Read Before Adopting a Cat in Wisconsin
Cats can make good pets in Wisconsin if they match your IifestyIe. Domestic Cats have been intriguing companions for humans since ancient times. Worldwide, cats are even more popular than dogs as pets. Sadly, huge numbers of cats are in need of adoption and care. A cat owner who no longer wants the cat, or is no longer able to care for a cat, may drop the cat off at a shelter or simply abandon it. Overcrowding in shelters, along with too few adoptive families for the cats, leads to many wonderful pets having to be euthanized. Abandoned cats fend for themselves and breed in the wild, forming colonies of feral cats. Feral cats have such a difficult existence that they typically only live an average of two years, whereas domestic cats can live an average of twelve years with proper care. Organizations exist that can catch and tame feral kittens, and then place them in a home, but adult ferals can rarely be socialized to trust humans. Meanwhile, many prospective cat owners choose to purchase a kitten from a pet store or breeder, and may not know that even purebred cats and kittens are often available for adoption.

Once someone is ready for the responsibility of caring for a cat, adoption can be an incredibly rewarding decision. Adoption benefits cats, owners, and society alike. Adopting a cat is typically much less expensive than purchasing one. Shelters often have a wide selection of very sweet, friendly cats and kittens, including purebreds. Adoptive owners enjoy bonding with their pets, and have the extra satisfaction of knowing they have rescued a wonderful companion from a hard existence. Every cat adopted means one less cat has to be euthanized. Every kitten purchased new results in one less opportunity for adoption to take place. If you are ready for a pet cat, please consider adoption!
