Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Not Good w/ Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Malnourished, Abused/Neglected

Hey there animal lovers! I have a beautiful calico kitten that I am trying to find a home for. I took her off of someone's hands who didn't take care of her and didn't give her the love and attention she deserves. She is very very sweet and cuddly. She is very submissive. She does cry sometimes when she is alone but when she is with you it's all purrs, face rubs, etc. the home she was previously in never bought her food once. She was reduced to chasing mice in the home and eating dog food when she wasn't too scared to come out of hiding. This poor girl just needs a nice quiet home where she can relax and be the center of attention. She was ... (Read More)scared/tortured intentionally by some previous owner with their dogs so she is scared crazy of them. Currently she is healthy except for being malnutritioned. Due to being malnutritioned she has lost a lot of fur and her sides and belly and back legs feel almost buzz cut. She doesn't have any flea or skin irritation or scabs. She is just malnutritioned. I am looking for a happy quiet loving home for this beautiful little girl. I will hand her over to the new owner who wants her after I make sure her hair has grown back and she is no longer malnutritioned. Seeing as I just rescued her this week it may be another month or so before she will be free for adoption. I can keep an open adoption with anyone and provide weekly even daily pictures and updates on her progress to those who would like it. This little girl just needs to be loved and taken care of. Please help her find her forever home and make her glad she was saved from those horrible previous owners. (Less)

My name is Zidane. I am a Small DSH Brown Mackerel Tabby/White Adult Female cat. I LOVE to play with other cats so I would be perfect in a multiple cat home, as long as they like to play too. I also like to sit in the window and watch the birds and squirrels. I love to play with my toys and I prefer not to be held. I can be temperamental if you don't pick me up the right way. I like to have fun and to be petted. I can be very shy initially when in new surroundings. Won't you take me home with you? I prefer a home without young children. The adoption fee for cats is $100 and that includes: 'ۢ veterinarian examination 'ۢ current vaccines ... (Read More) 'ۢ current flea, intestinal parasite, and heartworm prevention 'ۢ spay/neuter 'ۢ a microchip for identification if ever lost or stolen 'ۢ current FELV/FIV test For more information on this pet, please visit our website, swval.org or search for us on Petfinder.com In order to adopt, fill out the adoption application from our website or email us at adopt.swval@gmail.com and we'll send you an application! He has become a little standoffish, because he has the freedom of the cat room. If he is in the kennel or a box relaxing, he will let you rub and love him.......but it's according to the way he feels at the moment. Most recent photo July 25.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Cat in West Virginia
Cats can make good pets in West Virginia if they match your IifestyIe. Domestic Cats have been intriguing companions for humans since ancient times. Worldwide, cats are even more popular than dogs as pets. Sadly, huge numbers of cats are in need of adoption and care. A cat owner who no longer wants the cat, or is no longer able to care for a cat, may drop the cat off at a shelter or simply abandon it. Overcrowding in shelters, along with too few adoptive families for the cats, leads to many wonderful pets having to be euthanized. Abandoned cats fend for themselves and breed in the wild, forming colonies of feral cats. Feral cats have such a difficult existence that they typically only live an average of two years, whereas domestic cats can live an average of twelve years with proper care. Organizations exist that can catch and tame feral kittens, and then place them in a home, but adult ferals can rarely be socialized to trust humans. Meanwhile, many prospective cat owners choose to purchase a kitten from a pet store or breeder, and may not know that even purebred cats and kittens are often available for adoption.

Once someone is ready for the responsibility of caring for a cat, adoption can be an incredibly rewarding decision. Adoption benefits cats, owners, and society alike. Adopting a cat is typically much less expensive than purchasing one. Shelters often have a wide selection of very sweet, friendly cats and kittens, including purebreds. Adoptive owners enjoy bonding with their pets, and have the extra satisfaction of knowing they have rescued a wonderful companion from a hard existence. Every cat adopted means one less cat has to be euthanized. Every kitten purchased new results in one less opportunity for adoption to take place. If you are ready for a pet cat, please consider adoption!

lnteresting Cat Trivia Low-Cost West Virginia Spay & Neuter Clinics
All domestic cats are descended from African wild cats. Cats were considered divine in ancient Egypt and are depicted in hieroglyphs and found mummified in the tombs of Pharaohs. Cats were incredibly popular in ancient Rome; Rome may have been spared from plague outbreaks due to its huge population of feral cats keeping the rat population under control. Today, Rome has the largest number of feral cats of any city in the worldabout 300,000 felines!
