Pete, a Tuxedo cat, wandered up to a home in the Lake Palestine, TX area around the beginning of August 2016, and they already had several cats of their own, so they could not keep him. Pete is very affectionate, likes to be vocal when he wants to be pet, and may try to go outside when he sees a door open. Joni tested positive for Feline Leukemia, and it was suggested to euthanize her, but this does not have to be a death sentence. My husband finally got some help to open the hood of the vehicle he knew she was in, put some heavy gloves on, and grabbed her on 6/17/16. He had the person helping him open the trap left that night to put her in, and I picked her up to bring her home. We believe it is her in best interested to be in a quiet home with no dogs and someone who can give her the attention she needs. The stress has caused her to have lots of stomach related issues. We have her on strict feeding scheduled and on prescription cat food which has helped a lot. We have taken her to the vet about 4 times since we have had her and she has a clean bill of health. Her issues are just related to being in a constant state of stress. We spent $800 to have two bad teeth removed and the rest cleaned and sealed (good for about 6 months). We are unsure if she is fixed. Our vet said to watch if she becomes in heat and to have her fixed then, but she believed that she was probably already fixed since most kitten are fixed. Jasper is a very loving 6 yr old blue point Siamese. He came to us about a week ago when our vet asked if I would be interested In taking him before his owners euthanized him. They had him as a family member for 6 years and had him neuters and declawed three years earlier. They said he wouldn't use his litter box and he couldn't go outside so they didn't know what else to do. I agreed to take him in. The litter isn't typical cat litter he will need to use a box with critter care. Some cats that have had their claws removed don't prefer the hard clumping clay litter because their paws are tender and uncomfortable to scratch in. His hair is looking better and he is becoming more active. He will have to stay as an inside cat and will have to use the more expensive litter. We do not know if he does well with other cats or dogs. He is a great people person cat though.
