Rescue Me ID: 14-10-20-00640Angel (female)

Manx Mix    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

This is a female kitten that was born around March 24, 2014. She has been an inside house cat all her life since she was two weeks old at which point we had to bottle feed her along with her other siblings due to something happening to her mother. She is short-haired. Her mother was tailless and short-haired. I do not know who the father was but think it was a long haired cat with a tail. We named her Angel. She is spayed.

She has been an inside house cat all her life since she was two weeks old at which point we had to bottle feed her along with her other siblings due to something happening to her mother. She is long haired with what I call a half tail. Her mother was tailless and short-haired. I do not know who father was but think it was a long haired cat with a tail. We called her raccoon due to how she looks in her face. She is spayed.

Manx Mix    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

This is one of 3 kittens I have that are need of a good home. This male along with his siblings were bottled fed due to something happening to their mother when they were only two weeks old. He has always been inside so would need to be kept inside. He is tailless/short-haired and same color as was his mother. I guessed at what breeds his mix is since I am not sure who the father is but feel it was a long haired cat with a tail. One of his siblings are short-haired like him and the others are long haired with tails. Was born around March 24, 2014.

Domestic Cat    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Greetings! Will post pictures this afternoon. I have a male and female tabby from the same litter that I adopted together. The male is solid blue with barely discernable stripes on his tail. He is a lover and a lap kitty. My female kitty is standard dark grey stripped and has a little bit more energy. She's a little smaller than her brother and only likes to cuddle on her terms (typical cat!) But, she is also very sweet. I live in Olive Branch, MS and due to parent illness, I must relocate to Florida. If there was anyway I could keep these kitties I would, but I do not know how long I will be at home as primary caregiver to my elderly ... (Read More)father. Thanks for reading!! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-31-00055Dobby (male)

Norwegian Forest Cat Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Not Good w/ Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Dobby was rescued from under a bridge with his other litter mates. He was approximately 4 months old when I rescued him 12/10. He is blue/gray in color with beautiful green eyes. His coat is long and soft. He has never been neutered, but vet states he is probably sterile due the size of his testes. He is unable to meow, but does make noises. He is very loving and relaxed when he is the only animal in the house. He loves to cuddle and lie in your lap. He is anxious in noisy environments. He usually hides when other animals or children are around. He has been declawed in all four paws. He is startled easily. He will not even ... (Read More)consider going outside. Not even on a deck or porch. He would do well in a home with no children and no other animals. He would be a great companion for a single and/or elderly person. I'm not sure why he is so anxious, but he has always been this way. We have one other cat in the house and they have 'tolerated' one another, but now we have a Yorkie that drives him insane. I love Dobby and hate to see him go, but would love for him to be happy. If you can provide a calm, quiet environment for Dobby, I would love for you to meet him. There is no rehoming fee. (Less)

lovable male cat which needs a lot of tender loving care. Presently in home with 4 cats and one dog. He needs loving attention which he currently does not get enough of. PIease Read Before Adopting a Cat in Mississippi
Cats can make good pets in Mississippi if they match your IifestyIe. Domestic Cats have been intriguing companions for humans since ancient times. Worldwide, cats are even more popular than dogs as pets. Sadly, huge numbers of cats are in need of adoption and care. A cat owner who no longer wants the cat, or is no longer able to care for a cat, may drop the cat off at a shelter or simply abandon it. Overcrowding in shelters, along with too few adoptive families for the cats, leads to many wonderful pets having to be euthanized. Abandoned cats fend for themselves and breed in the wild, forming colonies of feral cats. Feral cats have such a difficult existence that they typically only live an average of two years, whereas domestic cats can live an average of twelve years with proper care. Organizations exist that can catch and tame feral kittens, and then place them in a home, but adult ferals can rarely be socialized to trust humans. Meanwhile, many prospective cat owners choose to purchase a kitten from a pet store or breeder, and may not know that even purebred cats and kittens are often available for adoption.

Once someone is ready for the responsibility of caring for a cat, adoption can be an incredibly rewarding decision. Adoption benefits cats, owners, and society alike. Adopting a cat is typically much less expensive than purchasing one. Shelters often have a wide selection of very sweet, friendly cats and kittens, including purebreds. Adoptive owners enjoy bonding with their pets, and have the extra satisfaction of knowing they have rescued a wonderful companion from a hard existence. Every cat adopted means one less cat has to be euthanized. Every kitten purchased new results in one less opportunity for adoption to take place. If you are ready for a pet cat, please consider adoption!
