Ragdoll    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations, Fearful/Anxious

Mia is a Beautiful 11 year old Purebred Bluepoint Ragdoll cat available for adoption to a good, loving home. She is showing signs of stress around other cats so should be the only cat in the home. Loves adults and is shy around small children. Doesn't mind dogs, but would get along better if they are older and give her space. Has never showed aggression and is a very loving cat. On most days you can find her in front of any fireplace. Mia will sit and watch the fire all day. She loves the warmth and to watch it burn. We love her a lot and she has been apart of our family for 11 years now! The only reason we are rehoming her is because our ... (Read More)other cats torment and torture her. She now has to hide and run from the other cats. Mia is a good girl and has lots of life and love to give. She deserves a warm loving home where she can get all the attention she needs! Home must have a fireplace so she can sit by the fire. Mia must live indoors only! If you are lonely and desire a lap cat Mia is your girl! We are asking for a $100.00 rehoming fee to ensure she goes to a good home! (Less)

Scottish Fold Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Not Good w/ Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations, Fearful/Anxious

Bebe is a spayed female about 3 years old. Our neighbor's cat had kittens and we took two to help her find them all homes. We have two other cats and two dogs. She does not get along with dogs. She is very fearful of them and is always hiding. She loves people and does fine with other cats as long as they are not too aggressive. We need to find her a home because she does not seem happy here. We have thought about taking her to the pound but would like to try to get her adopted to a good home if possible. She is a loving cat when the dogs are not around to pester her. She loves human contact. She is great with kids and adults.

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-08-00397Jazzy, Adorable Jazzy (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Hello. My name is Jazzy. I am the most loving and talkative kitty you will ever meet. I am a neutered male, four to six years old and very healthy. I love to give kisses, hug you, lay in your lap and tell you everything I've done today. I must be an indoor AND outdoor kitty as this is what I am accustomed to. I am being placed for adoption due to being in a home with dogs that are a significant threat to my safety. In the past they had killed a cat that looks and acts just like me, and I am afraid they will kill me too. I was left at this home when my Mom purchased it last year. She tried to make things work but, fears for my safety, so ... (Read More)better to relocate me rather than let me being so at risk. I am used to living with smaller, non-threatening dogs but sometimes have issues with the male cats that came with my Mom. If I found an ideal FOREVER home, she would let me go to that person. Here is what I need: Safe yard/surrounding field; No aggressive or large dogs; You live on a low-traffic street; Not left outside to live/must live in the home as a family member (albeit, allowed outside when I want to play); No aggressive cats; No children (no exceptions); You must live in within 70 miles of Loveland, CO (so I can be checked on to be sure I'm a good fit for you); You own your home and have stable income. While I have no adoption fee, my adoption process is: 'ۢ A screening interview and home visit; 'ۢ A semi-gradual adoption process (overnights - to be sure I am a good fit; this also allows you, as an adopter to see how I fit in with you before committing to adopting me); 'ۢ Follow-up visits and calls and a Signed agreement that I will remain with the original adopter or be returned to our mom (no adopting out to anyone). If you meet these basic requirements then please call my Mom to discuss my adoption further. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-02-00445Lacey (female)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lacey is a 2 yr old white female DLH cat with green eyes. She is 9 1/2 pounds and will be living at our cattery. She is not declawed, and not spayed (she will before any adoption occurs). She was named Lacey as she was a princess kitten, and the name sounded feminine and pretty. She is a healthy girl. Since a true princess will not step into a dirty litter box, so she took her business outside. She saw the dogs using the doggie door, and followed suite. She has lived with 5 other dogs, large and small. She seems to like the small ones best. She likes to lay on the back of the couch on a blanket, and survey the situation. She likes to sleep ... (Read More)in bed with her human(s). She does like to be petted, but will also let you know when it's time to stop. She is fine with small children, as long as they understand her signals of 'stop'. She likes to play with socks and catnip toys. She does like attention, and will let you know it's time to give her some. (Less)

Animal ID: 1010Major Tom (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Major Tom Domestic Shorthair Male 2 years old 11 lbs. This is Major Tom to ground control. I find myself in a strange new world. Days ago I was just a stray'|trying to find my own waaaay. Now my life is filled with joy - endless snacks and clever toyyyys. What a lucky boy I am, they have tuna in a can! Not quite as brilliant as Mr. Bowie, but not half bad for a kitty from the wrong side of the tracks! Luckily I don't have to rely on my skills as an artist anymore - I am now a family kitty. I am already adjusting well to life in a warm, safe home. I am litter-box trained and even know to come a-runnin' when you shake the treat bag (super ... (Read More)smart, am I)! And those 'clever toys'? I wasn't joking about those. I love pretty much anything with bells in it or that rolls around so I can chase it. I will never get tired of that! I don't know any doggies yet, but I like my kitty playmates. Sometimes the older ones get annoyed cause I'm still pretty young, but I mind my elders and don't pester them too much. I also like to snuggle with my people. If I could sleep with them all the time (except when I'm chasing the balls), then I would be one happy kitty'|especially if belly rubs are included! So if you're looking for an adventurous little guy who is ready to settle into the comfy domestic life, then send an email to adopt@pawscoadoptions.org and fill out an adoption application. I would be over the moon if you'd take me home! (Less)

Eric is a 'ruggedly handsome' cat with a very charming personality! This 10-year-old fellow is neutered, has claws, and weighs just over 11 pounds. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kitten is a sweet boy who is in desperate need of a home. We are moving out of the country and believe bring Kitten would be too difficult for him. I have had him since he was 3 weeks old and needs someone who will give him all their love. Since he is half Siamese he can tend to be vocal at times and does not like to be held regularly, though he will climb on your lap and snuggle you in bed often. He loves to play, but is not the biggest fan of children. He has been very unhappy the last 2 years after my husband and I moved in with one another and we got 2 dogs. He absolutely hates the dogs, though they don't bother him. He had a unrinary ... (Read More)blockage 2 years ago that requires him to be on royal canin urinary dry food and has not had an issue with a blockage since he's been on that food. Because of this I fear bring him to a rescue or shelter because it will be difficult to get him his needs. His food can be purchased at almost any vet. He is a good boy and a lover. Animal ID: 957Barnaby (female)

Domestic Cat    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, FIV

Barnaby Domestic Shorthair Male 5 years old 7 lbs. Barnaby. What do you think a Barnaby would be like? In real life I mean, not in a book or a story or something. A Barnaby in a story might be a goofball or a sidekick; but me, I'm the star of my own little world! I'm the master of my universe, the captain of my ship! I love to go off on little adventures, discovering uncharted lands like'|the shelves in the closet! I'm not afraid of anything and haven't met another four-legged creature I haven't liked - I'm trying to gather my own army of minions (don't tell the puppies!). I command attention mostly by being really cute, but also ... (Read More)because I'm so charismatic. You'll find yourself compelled to pet and snuggle me all day long, which is fine, because I like snuggling almost as much as adventuring (totally a word). I do have FIV, an immunodeficiency virus, which means that I will very likely live a long and happy life (plenty of time to discover every nook and cranny in my new home) but I might have a weaker immune system as I age. Therefore, I need to be an indoor cat only and be on a nutritious diet to help me stay healthy. Also, for your information, FIV is not transferable to humans or dogs. Our adoption team is happy to fill you in on more details or answer any questions you may have! So, if you're looking for a new adventure to pull you out of your doldrums (also, an actual word!), then send an email to adopt@pawscoadoptions.org and fill out an adoption application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/catadoptionapplication/. I'll act shy, but will be happy to warm up to you when you give me a chance at a home with you. I'm middle aged (13), and would prefer a quiet home with no other cats. I don't know if that's why my prior owner picked me, but I certainly fit in with his painting theme. I'm also quite limber. I like to be picked up and stretched out to my full length, which is ... (Read More)rather generous. I'm a thin girl, so I don't weigh much. I will also stand on the floor and stretch up to the countertop to let you know I'd like some of what you are preparing. So if you'd like a little kitchen help, consider me your ready and willing helper. People think I was named for the Kink's song Lola. But I was really named for a song 'What Lola wants Lola gets' from the play Damn Yankees. And it's you I really want. (Less)

Goose is a healthy, beautiful 16 y.o., 14 lb. spayed female DSH sweetheart with a gorgeous gray and tan coat. In her youth, Goose wrangled lizards and mice. But now in her retirement, she prefers a much more laid back and relaxed lifestyle. Goose can be quite affectionate, on her terms of course. She has a great purr, and a squeak of a meow. She has lived with a dog. With a clean bill of health from the vet, Goose has plenty of life left in her.

Do you need a Buddy? Of course you do! I'm a sweet companion who prefers a tranquil home environment. I am a short-haired, indoor puddy-tat who is a bit shy at first. But once I get to know you I will talk and purr. So if you need the purrfect companion run, don't walk, to the phone and call Safe Place. As a wise cat once said, I won't be your whole life but I will make your life whole.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Cat in Colorado
Cats can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. Domestic Cats have been intriguing companions for humans since ancient times. Worldwide, cats are even more popular than dogs as pets. Sadly, huge numbers of cats are in need of adoption and care. A cat owner who no longer wants the cat, or is no longer able to care for a cat, may drop the cat off at a shelter or simply abandon it. Overcrowding in shelters, along with too few adoptive families for the cats, leads to many wonderful pets having to be euthanized. Abandoned cats fend for themselves and breed in the wild, forming colonies of feral cats. Feral cats have such a difficult existence that they typically only live an average of two years, whereas domestic cats can live an average of twelve years with proper care. Organizations exist that can catch and tame feral kittens, and then place them in a home, but adult ferals can rarely be socialized to trust humans. Meanwhile, many prospective cat owners choose to purchase a kitten from a pet store or breeder, and may not know that even purebred cats and kittens are often available for adoption.

Once someone is ready for the responsibility of caring for a cat, adoption can be an incredibly rewarding decision. Adoption benefits cats, owners, and society alike. Adopting a cat is typically much less expensive than purchasing one. Shelters often have a wide selection of very sweet, friendly cats and kittens, including purebreds. Adoptive owners enjoy bonding with their pets, and have the extra satisfaction of knowing they have rescued a wonderful companion from a hard existence. Every cat adopted means one less cat has to be euthanized. Every kitten purchased new results in one less opportunity for adoption to take place. If you are ready for a pet cat, please consider adoption!

lnteresting Cat Trivia Low-Cost Colorado Spay & Neuter Clinics
All domestic cats are descended from African wild cats. Cats were considered divine in ancient Egypt and are depicted in hieroglyphs and found mummified in the tombs of Pharaohs. Cats were incredibly popular in ancient Rome; Rome may have been spared from plague outbreaks due to its huge population of feral cats keeping the rat population under control. Today, Rome has the largest number of feral cats of any city in the worldabout 300,000 felines! The largest domestic cat ever weighed was about 46 pounds!
